Inspiration

Cloth, stitch and textile ephemera have always been a fascination and source of inspiration for me, both my mum and Granma always kept their hands busy with stitch, knitting or crochet, so it’s in my blood.

These are a few of my personal treasures for you to enjoy, I hope that they help you understand my journey. This year 2025 I’m concentrating on a few special items and delving deeper into their history, significance to me and the stories they tell of the hands that have held them. 

I want to honour the mundane, often overlooked items in our daily lives and how important they are to us all, in terms of clothes, furnishing and the art we enjoy.

I especially want the work of women artists to be acknowledged as art, especially that which is produced with simple materials like cloth, thread and paper, that can sometimes be regarded as suitable mainly for craft.
