Exhibition News

I’m continuing my work on my Textile Treasures, in fact I’ve been quite drastic and dismantled my mini cushions that you might remember, then used them as collage, on the pages of an old embroidery book which was published in 1906. I love old books with their slightly yellowing, soft pages, they contain the traces of previous hands that have held, loved and used them for stitch techniques and inspiration.

My Family Textile Heritage

These will now be exhibited with my paintings in The Angel Gallery in Broseley, as part of the Ironbridge Severn Valley Art Trail in September, details are below. I’m exhibiting as part of the group UN:Hinged, four mixed media and textile artists from Shropshire and the surrounding area, if you are local and choose to visit, please leave a comment in our visitors book.

I am an artist who previously worked with cloth and thread, so I have a good knowledge of design, I am now exploring painting to extend my skills, following on from a course called CVP with Nicholas Wilton. I am now exploring my own visual language using the principles that I have learnt on the way and translating this into my art practice.
