It’s been a while!

It’s been a while since I last posted unfortunately, I’ve been unwell and also working as a coach for an online art course since June, so I’ve not been as creative as I would like.

It was a real honour to be asked by Uk artist Louise Fletcher, to be a coach for a second year on her ten week course Find Your Joy, which teaches all level of artists, from absolute beginners to experienced artists. It’s been a really joyful experience to witness how artists all over the world, have embraced Louises teaching and really pushed themselves to learn new ideas and gain more confidence in their art and also their lives.

In June I also went on a weeks art retreat in Herefordshire, with three good friends, collectively known as UN:Hinged to plan for our future mixed media and textile exhibition in September. We had a wonderful time totally immersing ourselves into our work, discussing ideas for future work and generally having lots of fun together. We couldn’t resist playing with the giant pencils in the farmyard, I think we may need bigger sketchbooks, next time we visit.

I am an artist who previously worked with cloth and thread, so I have a good knowledge of design, I am now exploring painting to extend my skills, following on from a course called CVP with Nicholas Wilton. I am now exploring my own visual language using the principles that I have learnt on the way and translating this into my art practice.
